Use a long zip tie as a dipstick to start then decide to use one tube in each or one between the pair.

I hope it's ok to stick a related question into this thread.

I'm just in the process of changing the front brake calipers and noticed the swivel joints leaking once I undid the 2 bolts holding the brake hose bracket to the hub assembly. I got the bolts back in pretty quickly so didn't lose much grease, however I don't know when the swivel joint grease was last changed so I'm going to replace it anyway.

Question is, with no drain hole on the TD5, is undoing the 2 bolts again a sensible way of easily draining most of the old grease from the swivel joints?
