Got mine fixed by Norfolk Windscreens. Did a super job 4 days after phoning them. They used genuine LR solar and HUD screen. £70 excess (as opposed to £50 via autoglass) with NFU.

Just following up on this, Autoglass finally sorted things out - all replaced fine, using LandRover OEM solar glass. Hassle, but got there in the end. |

Defender windscreens have all the structural integrity of a chocolate fire guard.
Their failure rate should be obvious if JLR and/or the windscreen supplier would care to study the data in terms of number of replacements / month per cars delivered, compared to other models. I get the impression that JLR are just shrugging their shoulders as we’re nearly on L663’s fifth model year and no upgrade. If there’s profit to be made in selling replacements, then no incentive to improve things… |

Agree. When my last screen was fitted the guy doing it reckoned they were doing 4-5 a week, which seemed a lot, but it was one of Autoglass's specialist fitting centres. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

lt might just be because the screen is more upright than most vehicles?
My Transit Connect van was similar, three screens within two years. Same with my Renault van. l've never had a screen break in an "ordinary" car. So far my Defender screen has been fine, it's the solar reflective glass which l was told was less prone to breaking. |
