Train Fire, Germany

Apart from this video of a car transporter of new Defenders i cant find anything more about it.

Does anyone else no more.

I know that EV fires in general are kept out of the press which is always odd, but of cause doesn't fit the cuddly image that likes to be shown

There you go https://www.kfz-betrieb.vogel.de/newsbrand...9532ae194/

Happened on Friday, 13th October - of all dates Whistle

Seven cars burnt out, probably hybrids, others damaged by heat or falling parts of the overhead cables. "Cause unknown". Was extinguished quickly, so I think the cars were not fully electric.

Thanks for that, my bad, meant hybrid Embarassed

Interesting that the doors survived and nothing else, oddly comical. Though the expecting owner i guess wont agree.

Is that a bit like the Luton fire or the MV Fremantle?

Quote:
There has been much speculation that the battery pack from an electric car caused the fire, but this proved to be wrong when offloading the ship.[18] Abouth 1000 cars were recovered in essentially good condition - among them all the 498 electrical cars which were on board the ship.[19] Therefore, earlier speculations proved to be wrong.[20] However, the cause of the fire is unknown.[21] Investigations started when the ship was moored in Eemshaven

The manipulation of the media where EV and hybrid fires are concerned is really quite sinister.

If all the EVs on board Fremantle were fine one is forced to wonder why there is video evidence of vehicles coming off the vessel and immediately being fully submerged in a tank of water.

It would normally be the other way around as it goes with a narrative and that increases clicks / sells papers and generates revenue. Hence the media start with the story that suits the reader's narrative.

If that story no longer exists, it goes quiet and dissapears off the radar......

Thats the least burnt EV going and looks like residual damage

EV fires are serious and although theres a group that want to deny and cover up, this is a real problem

I get environmental and i appreciate its a new technology.

But any small fault and the thermal run away is evil - submerging the car in water for 2-3 days is not a solution! Mike

Any major fire is serious its all about risk......

However jumping up and down at every car fire citing EV is Whistle ..... 4months ago it was the MV Freemantle, then Luton Airport Car park..... both not.

Lets find out and then move forward.

Looking at that clip, I think we can al conclude that this was avoidable in so many different ways. The real issue being the human in it all.

Anyhow Diesel is obviously the best of all worlds in this case. Shame Diesel is now blamed for all ills in modern society.
